How Do Facials and Chemical Peels Work?
After your consultation to select your best treatment plan based on your skin type and needs, you can relax in a treatment room as our team prepares for your facial or chemical peel. Your customized treatment will most often begin with a deep cleansing to eliminate any dirt, makeup, and oil. With a facial, after cleaning the skin, steam is often used to open the pores so our team can easily extract whiteheads and blackheads. This is usually followed by exfoliation. With a chemical peel, the cleansing is typically followed by the application of a personalized solution to your face and/or neck. We will brush the solution onto the skin and allow it to set for an appropriate length of time, which is often predetermined in your chemical peel planning session. Then, we will wash the peel off your face and apply a neutralizing agent. Following either treatment, a mask or serum will be massaged into your skin to provide deep nourishment. To end either treatment, an SPF moisturizer is smoothed on to protect your skin from sun damage following the treatment.
